For more than a century, these vintage postcards have survived the passage of time. Today, I am giving them a new life.
There is something magical about an old postcard. This small piece of cardboard once travelled, carried a message and passed through generations. Each postcard is a fragment of our history and heritage.
For many years, I have been collecting these silent witnesses of a bygone era: views of vanished villages, scenes from the Belle Époque, and snapshots of everyday lives from the past. My personal collection includes between 2,000 and 3,000 postcards, mainly from France, along with around fifty from the United States, and I continue to expand it.
This website is still quite new and currently showcases only a small part of my collection. I gradually scan, restore, document, and publish my postcards, at a rate of about one new postcard per day. The catalogue therefore continues to grow steadily over time.
Original, Restored and Colorized Vintage Postcards
To preserve and showcase these historical documents, I scan and restore each postcard.
Whenever possible, I present it in three different versions: the original postcard, exactly as it has survived to the present day; the restored version, with signs of ageing and damage reduced as much as possible; and the colorized version, offering a different way to rediscover the places and people of the past.
For restoration work, I use tools including Chat GPT, GIMP and Pixelmator Pro.
I am not a professional photo restorer: this is first and foremost a personal passion. My aim is simply to share these images with anyone interested in vintage postcards, local history and postcard collecting.

About the Restoration and Colorization Process
In June 2026, I began scanning my collection more regularly and experimenting with different restoration and colorization techniques.
The descriptions accompanying some postcards are written with the help of artificial intelligence. Although every effort is made to provide accurate information, some historical or geographical details may contain inaccuracies.
Colorization is not applied systematically. Postcards that were already colorized at the time, or those for which colorization would not produce a satisfactory result, are simply presented in their original and restored versions.
My collection is being added to the website gradually. New vintage postcards are published regularly, so feel free to come back from time to time and discover the latest additions.
